York Street has two restaurants, a food cart and a coffee shop located in the Gardens.
Offshoots Café
Offshoots Café is located in the main building, by the Water-Smart Garden. Entry is included with admission. Reservations are not accepted.
- In the morning, select from a variety of freshly made breakfast pastries, breakfast burritos and sandwiches, or our signature deep dish quiche. Lunch provides a variety of salads, sandwiches and wraps, always made fresh, with local ingredients when possible, reflecting the Gardens’ core value of sustainability. Lots of vegetarian items are available.
- Offshoots also has a full-service coffee bar, fresh brewed iced teas, lemonade and aguas frescas.
- All cups, plates, straws, cutlery and paper products are 100 percent compostable.
- Offshoots has free Wi-Fi.
- Members get a 10 percent discount.

Hive Garden Bistro
The Hive is a modern bistro nestled under the trees adjacent to Monet Pool. Entry is included with admission. Open daily, weather permitting. Reservations are not accepted.
- The restaurant features seasonal fare – including burgers, sandwiches and salads – prepared to order. Local ingredients and produce harvested from Le Potager garden and the Gardens’ CSA at Chatfield Farms are incorporated into the menu whenever possible.
- All cups, plates, straws, cutlery and paper products are 100 percent compostable.
- The Hive has free Wi-Fi.
- Members get a 10 percent discount.

New! The Hot Dog Cart
The cart serves hot dogs, vegetarian brats, canned beverages (including water) and chips. Located in Oak Grove. Limited seating available. Open daily, weather permitting.

Copper Door Coffee Roasters
Copper Door Coffee Roasters is a coffee shop located at the northeast corner of the Freyer – Newman Center at 1085 York Street. Copper Door Coffee Roasters is a woman-owned company committed to diversity, inclusion and community. Free admission to the coffee shop. Reservations are not accepted.
- Copper Door Coffee Shop has a full-service specialty coffee bar.
- All cups, plates, straws, cutlery and paper products are 100 percent compostable and/or recyclable.
- A selection of food is available, including breakfast sandwiches, burritos, locally baked pastries and oatmeal.
- All syrups are made at Copper Door Coffee.
- The coffee sold is roasted at the Santa Fe Street location.
- The coffee shop has free Wi-Fi.
