Homeschool Make and Take: Journey through the Rainforest

Take a trip to the tropics without booking a flight. Explore the complex relationships and layered ecosystems of the flora and fauna who make the rainforest their home. Complete a self-guided journey through the Boettcher Tropical Conservatory then plant and decorate a miniature jungle-inspired terrarium to take home.

Homeschool Make and Take programs offer a space for children and their grownups to connect with the natural world and create together. These self-guided and self-paced programs are designed to provide a creative environment that sparks imagination. The Gardens provides the space and supplies. You and your family provide the ideas and creativity! Each Make and Take Program includes a self-guided exploration guide and the space and supplies to complete a project to take home.

Program Location: This program takes place indoors. Depending on the size and interests of our your group, this program will take 1-2 hours to complete.

Audience: Materials provided are appropriate for families with children ages 6 and up.

Price: $16 per project fee non-members; $13 per project fee members. Each project fee includes the materials needed to plant and decorate a one terrarium.

Registration Instructions: The number of project fees should equal the number of people making a terrarium. Provide the number of adults and children in your group during the checkout process. The project fee includes admission to the Gardens for your family group.

Cancellations: Cancellations more than one week prior to a class are subject to a 15% cancellation fee. Cancellations with less than one week's notice are non-refundable.
